Christel Vega

Christel Vega Miranda is a Chilean artist, who lives and works between Chile and  Türkiye since 2021.

Christel Vega is an artist specializing in oil painting and restoration.

After having entered several Fine Arts institutions, she withdrew from formal studies because she could not find in the Chilean academies, neither the spirit nor the tools to develop her painting. Making an analysis of the possibilities and circumstances of the moment, she decides to continue with her self-taught training and continue with her natural intuition for drawing, color, shape; an artistic and visual criterion that she developed from a very early age showing traits of a child prodigy.

Vega has received particular training in the field of painting restoration, ancient materials and techniques.

After several years working as an independent artist, she has made several individual and collective exhibitions, both national and international, in both private and public art galleries, art museums and universities.

She has developed as an Art jury, has been selected in numerous competitions and has received the prestigious honorary prize of the National Young Art Competition of the University of Valparaiso, and others mentions and distinctions in the oil painting category.

Vega's paintings are featured on the covers of poetry books, university publications, galleries, and numerous catalogs.

Christel Vega is part of Foundation Skansen, a non-profit foundation that promotes the development and social commitment of bringing art to rural areas of Chile.
