Emin Mete Erdoğan

Emin Mete Erdoğan was born in 1982 in Istanbul and he graduated from Marmara University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting in 2010. In his works, the artist creates a hybrid style that combines technical painting with classical painting techniques. Erdoğan is sometimes inspired by mythological stories and sometimes by scientific thought. He combines these two seemingly opposite poles in his works and conveys them to the audience with his own contemporary interpretation. The crowded, epic scenes that we often encounter in his works wink at dystopian and utopian thoughts. Instead of directly presenting the images he uses, Erdoğan proceeds with representations of the subject matter. He does not focus on a time or place in the choice of images he uses in his compositions. He uses the past and the present, the east and the west in the same frame. In his own words, his works are sub-temporal and supra-spatial. He has been apart of multiple solo and group exhibitions in countries like Dubai, Miami, Singapore etc...
